What someone writes in your yearbook when they don’t really care/don’t know enough to write something personal, but still want to appear so. May also be because the person is in a rush/has lots of yearbooks to sign.

Joshua: Oh cool, Ari signed my yearbook!

Garett: What does it say? Did you get her number?

Joshua: It says “hags”, darn it.

HAGS

Short for "have a great summer". The ultimate phrase used in yearbook signatures when you’re desperately trying to avoid revealing that you actually have no clue who the person is. A surefire way to say, "We shared oxygen in the same room a few times, so let's just pretend we were BFFs." Because who needs a heartfelt message when you can just blanket statement everyone’s summer greatness?

"When in doubt and out of meaningful things to say, just go with a classic 'HAGS'. It’s the yearbook equivalent of 'I’m too lazy to write anything real'."

Fag Hags

Women who cling to gay men. Often seen around groups of gay men, they use the insulating effect to enjoy a night on the town without being assaulted by straight men. Also one who clings to a gay guy and reports to be his "bff".
