A city in Northeast TN. Lots of crazy people, rednecks, drug dealers, wannabe rappers, and just general trouble causers. Northside and Eastside are White and middle class. Westend is White, Black and mixed, and lower class. South side is mostly white and lower-middle class. Town center is mixed and lower-middle to middle class. Main hangout areas include The Commons, AMC movie theater, Greeneville Square, and West Greene shopping center. Greeneville has many low-income and government subsidized housing areas, avoid here at night unless the people there fw you or you live there. Not a whole lot to do, but decent attractions for the size of the town. Outsiders aren’t typically welcome on most blocks so stay alert. Population as of 2021 is 15,480. Crime rate is 10k/100k and only 4% of crimes are cleared making it one of the most dangerous areas in the United States. Greeneville typically votes Republican in elections.
