A term used to describe those of Filipino descent. The word fuses the words chink and Chimichanga (a popular Latin cuisine) to reference an Asian populace uniquely infused with Spanish traditions. The Philippines, named after Phillip II, King of Spain in the late 16th century, was a Spanish colony for several centuries until it was ceded to the Americans in June 12, 1898 after the Spanish American War.
