The person normally has no skills with electronic devices at all but uses his/her money to buy expensive gadgets to boast his/her ego and acceptance in a group.

A guy that has no friends but a tiny penis shows off his cellphone at a party:

"Hey guys, look at what my cool samsung galaxy S2 can do! Woohoo, and look what happens if you turn it upside down!"
