The negative psychological response to real world disappointments — the exact opposite of: forgiveness, “turning a frown upside down”, or, “turning the other cheek”. REVENGE is thought to be a better path; and, a person’s life becomes defined by a pivotal event that changes their outlook on life and perceived reality. In the words of Bob Dylan: “When you’ve got nothing; you’ve got nothing to lose”.

He was arrested and beaten by the police because he fit a profile. Found not guilty by a jury of his peers and exonerating evidence, he was freed after losing everything including his good name. THIS IS HOW VILLIANS ARE BORN!!!!!!!

Villainpunk

As coined by Jeff Mach, villainpunk is a genre or a fictional aesthetic wherein the villains or supervillains play the substantial role as protagonist, celebrating villainous storytelling and lore in all its great and terrible glory. Including, but not limited to, stories about henchpeople, rogues, cads, minions, anti-heroes, the misunderstood, the mad, the devils, the iron-willed, the passionately evil, and the downright villainous. Villainpunk encompasses worlds or multi-verses full of evil plots, secret lairs, world domination, necessary and unnecessary body augmentations, and other nefarious life goals.

"I wrote a book about a group of supervillains that’s very villainpunk."

"I'm writing a story about a dictator who invades and annexes Paris as a grand romantic gesture to the woman he loves."

A person with multiple millions or usully billions of dollars of wealth who are dubious of character and morals. They spend their time cultivating a positive public image, or lean into their evilness because they are above the law and probably own several politicians or groups that write or change laws in their favor. They enjoy being called elite, and having absurd passion projects that benifit no one but themselves and their businesses.

Did you know that villionaire Jeff Bezos purposefully had his rockets changed to look more phallic before he shot himself into space, just because he could.

Coined in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises" by Harvey Dent, A.k.a. Two-Face.

It is the philisophical summary that, no matter what good you intend to do, as long as you live and continue, you will bring about just as much evil as good, if not more through accident or intent. Death becomes a saving grace, providing vindication for their actions and preventing a worsening of certain outcomes through inactivity.

Examples include:
Falling to the same corrupton you sought to eliminate. ( Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars, Lois Griffin from Family Guy)
Prolonged exposure to evil, despite good intentions. (Frodo from Lord of the Rings, Ice King from Adventure Time)
Narrow minded destruction in belief of a greater goal. (Harvey Dent from "The Dark Knight Rises")
