Strawberry Shortcake

Popular(?) kids marketing franchise from the early 80's, with a TV special show every year from 1980 to 1985. Also spawned a game, somewhere.

The series got a somewhat short re-release in 1991, then a re-re-release in 2002, lasting until the present day. A proper TV series is now made, as well as some games, and of course, the somewhat creepy dolls.

Also can be a derogatory term for girls who are short, with red hair, and a totally lush dessert.

My sister is totally into Strawberry Shortcake, despite it's lack of consistancy with the originals...

1. typically made with flour, sugar, baking powder or soda, salt, butter, milk or cream, and sometimes eggs. After you mix and bake, put whipped cream, strawberries, and sugar.
2. Popular cartoon character started in 1980 as postcards, then toys, cartoons, food, etc. Returned in 1991, then 2002-present.
