OWL

A common acronymn for Old White Lady. The OWL is a single nocturnal predatory female between the ages of 37 and 50 that hangs around clubs and bars that do not befit her age, trying to swoop down to pick up young prey (men ages 18-30). Owls fancy themselves as followers of modern trends and music and can be found driving around town in their Volvo sedans, often wearing jeans with suit tops and high heals (basically their professional work attire - sub jeans for the pant-suit pants). These women search for youth through young and often under-employed males.

The OWL is the middle/upper management professional women that fancies John Mayer concerts, but will also attend rap concerts (should there be prey available).

Owl

An internet movement that promotes respectful internet posting and behavior. An 'owl' is someone who embodies those virtues. (Respect and integrity on the internet.)

The word 'owl' was chosen because of the traditional position the creatures hold in folklore and other morality stories. The owl is always the wise creature to go to. In that way, posters on the internet can strive to be 'owls', or wise and respected posters by being respectful themselves.

John is a very respectful poster on this forum, he's definitely an owl.
