The phrase "garter snapper" originates in this time period due to the fact that women often wore garters to hold up their tights and therefore someone who often "snaps" these garters takes them off, an act commonly preformed during this time period during sex or an affair.

The syndrome has also been called nonsense syndrome, balderdash syndrome, syndrome of approximate answers, hysterical pseudodementia or prison psychosis. The term prison psychosis is sometimes used because the syndrome occurs most frequently in prison inmates, where it may be seen as an attempt to gain leniency from prison or court officials. Psychological symptoms generally resemble the patient's sense of mental illness rather than any recognized category. The syndrome may occur in persons with other mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depressive disorders, toxic states, paresis, alcohol use disorders and factitious disorders. Ganser syndrome can sometimes be diagnosed as merely malingering, but it is more often defined as dissociative disorder.
“Ganser syndrome is described as a Dissociative Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (NOS) in the DSM-IV, and is not currently listed in the DSM-V. It is a rare and an often overlooked clinical phenomenon. In most cases, it is preceded by extreme stress and followed by amnesia for the period of psychosis. Get the ganser syndrome mug.Gainax's latest anime. A collosal mindfuck of the greatest proportions, it is deranged, crude, rude, and all in all, great fun.
It involves two angels, named Panty and Stocking. The former is a sex maniac. The latter is a gluttonous sweets lover (who possibly enjoys S&M)
They Fight Crime, or rather vengeful spirits called "Ghosts."
Oh, and the two girls are accompanied by a Hard Gay Priest (unconfirmed) named "Garterbelt" and a Gir expy named "Chuck."
The animation is done with the traditional style of western thick-line drawing.
Needless to say, it looks awesome in motion. However, the sense of humor is ripped from the worst of Western Animation, and it's not for everyone.
Cautionary warning: Watching it may give you a contact high.
