Counterproductive Workplace Behaviour

This is behaviour on the part of an employee or employees that works against the legitimate interests of the organisation that employs them or indeed their own interests. This sort of behaviour is detrimental to the organisation, its employees, clients and customers. It is believed that persons with a tendency to experience anger are more likely to respond to a stressful situation, such as being treated unfairly with counterproductive workplace behaviour.
When the supervisor blamed Charlie for his own mistake, Charlie deliberately jammed all three photocopiers in a fit of counterproductive workplace behaviour.

skrrt pull up in the coupe beep beep
use it in a sentence: “look! skrrt pull up in the coupe beep beep”, exclaimed mark, with his non-existent drivers license.
alternative/synonym: vroom, riding in my van, honk honk

counter-clockwise

Used to confuse someone in the process of making a counter-clockwise maneuver, causing them to reverse direction against all logic and reasoning. The grinding of mental gears ensues as the individual instinctively reverses direction, thus moving clockwise, even though the suggested "correction" indicated a change to counter-clockwise. Tons of fun at parties.
*someone passes the joint counter-clockwise, away from you*
"No dude, COUNTER-clockwise!"
*the individual reverses direction and passes you the joint*

deja coup

Deja Coup — the surreal realization that two years to the day after the attempted American Insurrection, the same congressmen who were instrumental in the attack on our democracy successfully made a bid for legitimate power on key congressional committees.

And on January 8th 2023 history rhymed when followers of Jair Bolsonaro followed the same game plan in Brazil attacking their Capitol building as Bolsonaro looked on in safety from Florida eating chicken fajita. He was later hospitalized for probable deniability — the political equivalent of a mobster being at a wedding during a major “hit”.

This is the psychological equivalent of a Vietnam era combat veteran being taken deep into a swamp to watch a fireworks display.

Some attribute the world wide rise of a militant and violent right to Steve Bannon; but, others say that he is just a highly mobile pimple on the ass of “this is how it’s always been.”

If you were a writer and submitted this as a plot for a novel; your editor would call you a hack and tell you that your writing was heavy handed.

This is the kind of world we’ve made!
(Sung to the theme of the Dione Warwick song: Deja Vu)

Deja Coup could this be a nightmare I once knew
Is it true?
Deja coup could this be a nightmare coming true
Are we screwed?
A two year festering coup
The alt-right pestering you
Deja Coup”

The Day We Could Have Stopped It!

The Day We Could Have Stopped It! —

Experts are warning AI could lead to human extinction. Are we taking it seriously enough?

On May 31st 2023 we could have stopped it. We knew we could have stopped it; but, we didn’t.

And, at some point “Skynet” will become “self aware”.

And while we’re at it, if we ever find any extraterrestrial life forms, we shouldn’t bring it onto a ship; or bring it to planet earth.

I’ve seen the movies. These things never end well.
Wednesday May 31st 2023: The Day We Could Have Stopped It!” — scientist are warning that proposed Artificial Intelligence technology could cause the extinction of the human race.

And yet we persist in its development.

Didn’t anyone see the movie?

counterparty

(FINANCE) for a financial instrument, the person/institution who takes the opposite position. For example, in a credit default swap (CDS), the buyer is someone who needs insurance against the possibility that a borrower will default on a loan. In that case, the counterparty is whoever receives the CDS premiums, and pays out in the event of default.
The purpose of financial options is to minimize risk to the buyer; therefore, it creates potentially lucrative opportunities for the counterparty, because the counterparty takes on so much risk.
