A derogatory, highly offensive slur for a robot. Other variations include “clanka” (used by robots to refer to each other), “clankaz” (plural form of “clanka”), and “clankie”.
If you don’t have at least 50% robot heritage, do not use the term “clanker,” regardless of the variation. It is considered extremely speciesist.

Clanker
slang, derogatory (in-game)
A clanker is a mildly insulting nickname used by World of Warcraft players to describe mechagnomes — the part-robot, part-gnome race introduced in patch 8.3. The term clanker (or clanka, plural: clankas) comes from the metallic clanking noise they make while walking, thanks to their mechanical limbs and gadgets.
Often used in PvP trash talk or casual RP, calling someone a clanker implies they’re more tin than gnome — squeaky, awkward, and probably about to overheat. Not truly offensive, but mechagnome mains may still act like you've voided their warranty.
