Spoiler Alert

1. When talking about a movie to an audience that has not yet seen the movie, this phrase is used by a speaker to warn that they are about to reveal plot details that may be surprising or unexpected. The thought is that revealing certain plot details will detract from the natural viewing experience, so the warning serves as an opportunity for people to stop listening/reading.

1a. The same idea, but in the context of other media such as books, television shows, etc.

2. Often this phrase is used jokingly following, or immediately proceeding information that is felt to be obvious.

1) Spoiler alert! We're about to discuss the ending of the Empire Strikes Back, so stop reading now if you haven't seen it yet.

2) "I loved Titanic, the best part was the special effects during the ship sinking... oh sorry, spoiler alert."

Abertridwr

Abertridwr is the greatest town in Wales, hands down. The short name for Abertridwr is Aber and is Commonly mis-pronounced as “Aa-ba”, however in the welsh accent it is actually pronounced “Are-ber”. Abertridwr also produces the greatest food in all of Caerphilly, with a kebab shop, Chinese shop, the chippy and sam’s grill house, it is untouchable. Abertridwr owns the bronze artwork, which is the perfect landmark to sit by whilst eating your doner kebab from the kebab shop. The final thing about Abertridwr is the park. Named “Aber park” the park owns the local library and also, the football (soccer) club.

Person 1 : Hey, what’s up butt? You wanna go Abertridwr park after school?
Person 2 : yeah! that’s the best park in Caerphilly!

Crime-Alert

Verb: To Rape, Assault, Mug, Sexually Harass, Victimize, Emotionally Traumatize, Engage in Surprise Butt-Sex, Polar Bear Hunting, with use of knife, gun, or various pointy objects. Occurs at any time of day on college campuses primarily after midnight, and is promptly reported by the local police department via email. And instead of taking measures to prevent said crime-alerts, local law enforcement officials proceed to raid bars and hand out numerous underage drinking tickets.

Jane was walking home late on a friday night, and was crime-alerted by two big dudes, with a gun. But thank God the police were at the bar to give Johnny got an underage drinking ticket.

Amber Alert

A message that conveys information about a recently missing or abducted person, usually displayed on electronic signs positioned along roadways. This message is broadcast by mass media, intended to enlist the public's help in finding the abducted person and often in catching the abductor.

It is an acronym for "America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response"

It was named in honor of 9 year old Amber Hagerman, who was abducted and murdered.

Lady: did you hear about elizabeth smart?
Man: No, who's that?
Lady: She was abducted, i heard about it on the news.
Trucker: She's right. There's an Amber Alert on her, i saw the broadcast along I-80 this morning.
Man: oh.
