A person who isso obsessed with Japanese culture (language, clothing, food, anime, etc) they wish they were Japanese them self. If you like anime, just anime, your an OTAKU. NOT a weeb.

Weeb 

A term used to identify anime fans, typically liking other “nerdy” things as well such as cartoons, cosplay, etc. A lot of weebs also collect anime merchandise and manga. Anime usually plays a big role in a weebs life.

All the weebs are obsessed with ramen.

Weeb 

Originally it was short for weeaboo, but slowly they have morphed two different words.
Weebs are simply people who watch anime (Japanese shows) and do not have an obsession with Japan. It’s typically used in a derogatory way but weebs can also sometimes refer to themselves as such.
Most weebs are normal people who can tell fiction from reality, though there is a minority of weeaboos who fall under the stereotype (i.e. having bodypillows, trying to date fictional characters, etc.) this minority should not be lumped in with regular weebs and should instead be referred to as a “weeaboo”
