Perma-Short

In climates with significant weather changes between the four seasons, a Perma-Short is someone who will wear shorts all year round, regardless of temperature. Usually, Perma-Shorts are male with long unruly hair. They usually complement their shorts with an old t-shirt usually displaying something related to dragons, wolves, eagles, or Def Leppard. It is usually postulated that most Perma-Shorts think they are some how getting back at society by refusing to wear coats and pants.

Jersey Shortcut

Jersey Shortcut – Second man in; or to “swoop” in on a situation where your buddy has already engaged in conversation with one or more women. It is not necessarily one’s intention to distract the girl your buddy is talking to, or to “CB” him, but to engage her friend in conversation as the “ice” has already been broken by your buddy. If, in fact, the girl your buddy is talking to seems more interested in you than him, it is acceptable at this point to make a move and potentially steal the girl away.

Example:

Rob – Yo, check out those 2 broads over there… yea, the blonde has been staring me down since we walked in.

Derek – Yea? …well then make moves son!

Rob – I got this.

Rob – Hey, what’s up.. you guys know of any good bars or clubs around here?

Blonde – (Insert engaging reply here)

Derek – (Swooping in from the side to talk to her brunette friend, instantly begins kicking solid game…)

Short Timers Disease

The inability to care about your job or that of your co-workers when your departure from your place of employment is imminent. Symptoms include some or all of the following: coming in late; making excuses to leave early; an ever-lengthening lunch hour; cleaning your desk weeks or even months in advance of said departure; treating co-workers like crap because you are leaving and they are staying; telling everyone and anyone who does or does not care about the details or the new job.
