It's hard to explain. Sure we have crushes but that's just you taking a small liking to them. When you love someone you want, adore, need them. There's multiple ways to describe love. Of course love is sometimes different. For example, loving something, a hobby or an object, is simply your adoration for that specific thing. But loving someone is different. When you love someone you start to feel the need to be around them, you open up to them even if it's a harsh topic, you trust them, you would be willing to put them in front of small problems you'd feel crushed knowing something bad is going on, you'd want to comfort them and you'd what their comfort as well. You can love anyone, no matter what gender or personality. Beware though, sometimes love is fake. You have to be careful on who you trust. People might put up an act, they'll say they love you but then quickly fall for someone else. That's a good example of a crush, you take a liking to someone then quickly move onto someone else. There's some bad sides to love though. People might be manipulated into thinking something is love when it's not. You'll sometimes get heartbroken by the ones you love and it'll hurt. Just remember, Love comes at a price.
M:"I love him so much!!!"
E:"No, you just like him. You'll find someone new to crush on in less than a week."

Condition allegedly experienced by humans the sole purpose of which is to facilitate procreation and nurturing alike, while for another thing it problematizes the selection of a potential mate. It also contributes to having people talk to large chunks of processed stones, whom they believe to be the ones they once used to know. Some even believe said stones to be responsive in the conversation. Generally confusing feeling, hard to digest. And although the Bible claims that "Love knows neither envy nor jealousy" (1 Corinthians 13:4), it actually is very likely to lead to this emotion. Hatred is the emotion one would truly feel no envy over.
