Fuctory reset

When as a couple you've not had intimate relations for an extended period and have become anxious and/ or the mood between you is tense on account of the lack of intimacy, with the feeling that the relationship is heading down a negative path; and then you finally have initmacy and both feel much better for it, restoring the good feelings between you that there were previously in the relationship, a bit like a 'factory reset' for an adversely performing digital device.

My partner and I finally had intimacy after several weeks of drought together, it was a complete fuctory reset!
