bugout bag

An emergency preparedness “go-bag” that is stocked with essentials and packed as a precautionary measure - then stowed away for security (hidden but readily-accessible). The main purpose of this bugout bag is to supply yourself with just enough sustenance and/or security measures for getting you from compromised territory (point A ) to a bunker, shelter, or other sanctuary of your choice (point B)

They say not to overpack your bugout bag because doing so may get you targeted and/or more easily apprehended by the opposition in route to your bugout shelter.
