grammar identity

A "grammar identity" is when a person chooses to spell things a certain way, or act a certain way in their writing or typing. This can be applied mainly to grammatical errors, or mistypes.
"Hey, Mark. What's the English homework?"
"i think we got that thesi outline due."
"Mark, are you alright? You're typing weird."
"thats just my grammer identity. as my friend you should respeck that.
"Yeah, alright..."

In English class
"Now kids, let's try some practice on colon and semi-colon usage in proper grammatical form."
"Proper grammatical form?? Did you just assume my GRAMMAR IDENTITY??? Fucking pig!"

Dissociative identity disorder

A diagnosis that a psychiatrist or therapist gives to a patient. It basically states that the personality is fractured into several distinct parts that behave differently from the original personality. It was once known as multiple personality disorder but psychiatrists changed the term to dissociative identity disorder because they realized they had no clue what they were doing and had to come up with something new and exciting since they were getting paid. Mental health professionals give this diagnosis so they can feel important and special since this disorder is glamorized in the movies. The patient unconsciously wants to please the therapist and read up on the symptoms to present to them. Both therapist and patient feed off each other. Often the patient will get the blame as attention seeking when really it's the therapist that's at fault but gets off the hook because they are the professionals. You will find all patients that enter therapy never had a clue they had the disorder until the therapist told them. It is a therapy induced disorder and will disappear once the patient leaves therapy. But it will reemerge once the patient returns. Plain and simple. From that point forward patients will be confused when something bad happens to them because they will think one of their personalities did it. They will lose all sense of who they are.
Since Julie was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder her life has been in ruins because she has lost her sense of identity.

identity band

Some underground or obscure band (or band obscure to the fans' larger peer group) that someone likes only because they can act elitist and sophisticated OR they can they say they like something unique different from everyone else. In bad cases, should the band break into the mainstream, they will suddenly disavow their fanship.

As a phenomenon, the term can be applied to individual artists. Most associated with genres with strong anti-authoritarian tendencies like punk, indie rock or hip hop, but can be applied to a wide range of situations, like random American fans of J-pop who really only like it because they can feel special, in contrast to true appreciators.

Sometimes associated with hipsters, or rather, their imitators.

Nevertheless everyone needs a dose of identity band sometimes. The opposite excess, where your playlist is entirely composed of songs off the top 40 lists, is a much worse sin.
It doesn't matter how massively popular Coldplay is, Arjun is self-confident enough that he doesn't have an identity band crisis for liking them.

Person 1: I liked Kid Cudi and Kanye better when they were underground.

Person 2: Please tell me you're not into that insecure identity band shit.
