Nickname for one of the members of the "Italian Highlights" 2001 tour of europe; made popular and first used by Mr. Steven Traendly. The name "sammy spade" eventually came to replace the more traditional "steve sweiciki."

A cool and talented dude. Term originated in New York / North Jersey. You refer to someone as a spade to recognize them as an all around baller. Someone who is good at a lot of things.
