Pulling a William indicates that you have royally screwed up. Somehow, despite every possible odd, you managed to make the impossible and incomprehensible existent. Pulling a William also involves the "William Puller" to laugh maniacally after committing their act.

William Puller: *tries to build a house, but accidentally builds time machine operated by a rat with a lightsaber for a tail*

pulled a george

This is a common phrase in the island of Cyprus among English speaking citizens of the island. George is a common name and is used as a definition of doing something completely wrong, or the complete opposite of what it should be. It is more commonly used in the game of pilotta.
This phrase is used everywhere in Cyprus.

In a game of pilotta someone makes a bet for kapo (or 25 points) but doesn't have all the cards to make it.

This results in everyone shouting at the person.

"Oh god, you pulled a george"
or if this is the 2nd time.
"You pulled another george man.."
