A metaphor for the concept of equivalent exchange meaning 'at great personal cost', in reference to something gained.

The phrase may have originated from the legend of Edward Elric, an alchemist who attempted to revive his deceased mother and later restored his brother's soul at the physical cost of his left leg and right arm, respectively.

'Hmm, I might go and get a tattoo of one of those Ouroboros things.'
'Be careful, it'll cost you an arm and a leg!'

Armed Exhibition

Armed Exhibition is rifle drill which goes beyond the standard manual of arms. It is typicaly spinning and other manipulations of a rifle, anywhere from 8-11 pounds. The military and JROTC are the groups most commonly attributed with this art, however their are also civillian Armed Exhibition teams such as New Guard America. Armed Exhibition is a sport which requires extreme concentation and strength. Commonly abbreviated as "Armed Ex" or just "Ex".

John: Hey what are you doing after school today?
Harry: Oh I'm practicing Armed Exhibition.
John: Oh word.

While engaged in the act of sexual intercourse, the guy who starts on the bottom with the girl riding him places his arm around his partner’s back and deftly scoops her turning her around and underneath him without slipping out.
