Indiespirational

Having a quality of inspiration, or an inspiring nature, utilizing generic sounding indie music and exaggerated, yet understated aesthetics. The music will have an uplifting tempo, will contain a folky, semi-exotic instrument such as a banjo or mandolin, and carry an unnecessary amount of whistling and group "woah-oh-oooh's." The aesthetic will have far too many quick cuts in the editing, lens flares, rack focuses, and inserts of people being unnaturally at ease. Many companies have taken advantage of the indiespirational approach to marketing, in an attempt to seem more family-operated.

Wow! That Wal-Green's commercial sure was indiespirational! I feel like they're part of my family. Their products MUST be quality.

The practice of combining knowledge across disciplinary boundaries and collaborating with diverse specialists in order to tackle complex problems.

There's an unusual and demanding arts and science degree in knowledge integration offered at the University of Waterloo. However, having a piano doesn't make you a musician.

When I graduate from med school, I will be trained to practice medicine. Whether I'm any good at it depends on me and how I study, work and learn. When I graduate from Knowledge Integration I will be trained to collaborate with peers from many disciplines.

deep indie

Deep Indie is music that you can't find ANYWHERE except the deepest reaches of the Internet, at local coffeeshops, and on podcasts like SOCIETY'S BASEMENT. Usually Deep Indie artists release their music digitally on platforms like Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

girl- "I just love that Real Indie Music!"
guy- "Oh, like The Black Keys?"
girl- "Well, that's okay, but i'm talking real- like DEEP INDIE. Like Rubber Clown Car, or Electric Cake Salad, or The Droids!"

....
guy (who hasn't heard any of those, but wants to seem cool anyway)- "Uh, yeah! That stuff, uh, rocks!"
