When someone is acting like a “guard” over something or someone — being overprotective, hovering too much, or policing like they in charge. Can also be used for someone who literally became a cop/security/CO, or when somebody’s being overly cautious about their stuff or themselves.

(n.) A coworker or manager whose immediate, knee-jerk impulse upon receiving any email, question, or new piece of information is to schedule a meeting in Microsoft Outlook to discuss it, often when a simple reply or quick chat or slack would suffice.
