talking big

Not the same as lying. One who talks big speaks what appears to be a solid game plan, but does not have any true intentions of following through. The talker may not realize they are talking big. Usually is done in the hype of a moment, with motive to fire up a crowd's excitement but with no definite execution.

Mike: Yo man I'm about to hit the club tonight lets turn the f*k up!

Friday Night @ 9:00pm
Fred: Guys, Mike said he's going to just stay in tonight, he's kinda tired from work.

Shawn: Yo I knew that little b*tch was talking big.

small talk

The act of supplying a person with irrelevant information about oneself in an attempt to appear friendly and normal to a person one is meeting for the first time. This practice I'd particularly important to extroverts (people who take pleasure in spewing random bits of their life stories at anybody who will listen,) who use it to try to judge and impress others with the ability to observe the weather and remember how many siblings they have. Unfortunately, these skills are widely regarded by introverts as both unimpressive and anyway pointless due to the fact that introverts and extroverts alike do not usually give a damn about how long their neighbors have been married and are not likely to remember unless their neighbors are close friends, in which case small talk usually isn't used anyway. Note: all people resort to small talk in uncomfortable situations.

Person 1: How was the new Star Trek movie?

Person 2: It was great except the people I went with have never even watched any other Star Trek before. Most of the car ride was awkward small talk.

When two individuals are interested in each other, make out etc on a regular basis, but are not dating. There may or may not be the prospect of dating in the future. Not to be confused with "friends with benefits".

Judy and Paul hang out every Saturday night, and talk throughout the week, but are apparently "just talking".

A backroom conversation that can be found taking place in a police facility (72 pct). A conversation which consists of spewing unconfirmed "facts", rumors, lies and flat out bullshit which angers, upsets and riles lawmen for no reason because its all a made up pile of horseshit.

Sal: did you hear that Meyer is having the mole rat, dress as a female pros, to go to the pocket park to try and sell his ass for a collar?
Gary: yeah nahh, that's weasel talk!
