The David Argument

"The David Argument" is a form of argument that is made when you have no actual comeback or good argument, often used by people that has poor debating skills and usually ends up in the losing side of a debate. This type of argument often starts off with "says the guy that..." and follows up with a personal attack against the other person (sometimes against the other persons family members or relatives) with no correlation to the subject being discussed whatsoever. This form of argument is said to be originated from a individual that was called "David" hence the name "The David Argument".

"Why are you using "The David Argument", cant you come up with better arguments?"

" Oh you're using "The David Argument" now, shows how poor your debating skills are"
"Only weird people with no intellect uses "The David Argument"

Someone who frequently uses Note-Beach Arguments can be considered a stubborn, angry, uninformed feminist. The arguments are never compelling and the person is frequently driven by anger and emotion.

The Chard Argument

The logic whereby nothing you do is ever good or pure enough.

Named after the core example where someone can be on a diet and no matter how effective it is, there's always someone who will criticize some dietary choice you made, the logical conclusion being that the only way to prevent this from happening would be if all you ever ate was chard.

Happening more and more in left-leaning circles where people frequently criticize other people for not being "woke enough".

"I lost 50 pounds in 3 months!"

"oh but if you'd have cut rice out of your diet, it would be so much healthier."

"yeah, thanks for throwing the chard argument at me"

Every conspiracy theory can be presented as a conspiracy itself.

A: I'm telling you, there are aliens in Area 51, it's no conspiracy theory.
B: No, the conspiracy theory is a conspiracy theory, it's what they want you to think.
A: You are just using the Conspiracy-Loop Argument.

Shut-down Argument

A rebuttal used in a debate or argument purely for the intent to overly simplify their opponent's point, even purposefully misinterpreting it.
An example being if A is critical of the president then B can say "you only believe that because your candidate lost the election." The statement can either be true or false, but it's use is to end A's argument. The rebuttal does not actually do anything for the purpose of debate.

"I can't handle talking to fans of the Star Wars sequels. Anytime I say I didn't like it they use the shut-down argument 'you only hate it because what you predicted was wrong.'"

When you make an Argument but information contained within said argument is Unconfirmed by the creators of the topic.

Guy 1: "IT'S A GIRL"
Guy 2: "NO IT'S A GUY YOU FUCKFACE"
Both Guy 1 and 2: *Incoherent yelling and Swearing*
Guy 3: "What are they arguing about?"
Guy 4: "Whether the Cat Human thing in a new anime is a guy or girl"
Guy 5: "A real Schrödinger's Argument, eh"

Cold-Fire Argument

A regular argument in which the general topic at hand is unimportant but is still treated as if it actually is in some aspect, usually by the person/people who initially sparked the conversation in the first place. In most cases Cold-Fire Arguments get extremely heated for no other reason for the sake of the discourse rather than the actual topic.

"Why did we even decide to go along with that whole conversation last night? We got nowhere I ended with a shitty feeling afterward."

"It was a Cold-Fire Argument, that's why."
