Children are born and raised there, where their parents were born and raised before them. Everyone knows each other. If a person doesn’t get out of the town as soon as they have independence, they will most likely be “trapped” there.
Trap towns generally have run down buildings, issues with alcohol and underaged drinking, and are not located near any big cities.
