Goldfishing

Pronunciation: Goldfishing (gowld · fi · shuhng)

Goldfishing is when someone or something is focusing on a particular thing (a task, people, objects) and suddenly, almost instantaneously, they lose focus on what they had originally been focused on and direct their attention to something else.

This is derived from the phenomenon that a goldfish's memory is a few seconds long.
"Dude, did you see my dog? He was chasing a squirrel, but he kept goldfishing onto the people walking on the street!"
