slope clause

In aviaion, a clause stating the maximum number of seats that can be in a regional or subsidiary company aircraft. Usually done in the interest of the pilots protecting themselves from being taken over by a large regional airline.

The Northwest Airlines slope clause says that a regional carrier flying for Northwest cannot have any more than 76 seats in an airplane.

Slope Hanger

Similar to, but not quite as strong as, the term 'Cliffhanger', used in various media such as TV shows to denote a moment of extreme suspense or surprise at a sudden plot development or revelation which occurs at the very end of an episode. A Slope Hanger is the milder version of this. You're not quite on the edge of your seat, but your cheeks are debating it.

"Lost ended on a slope hanger last night; who's that new guy??"

The combination of the word ' slut' and 'whore'. Unlike other definitions, most people commonly forgot how this word came to be. This wonderful term was created at a party when drunk sophomores came to a junior or senior party. Thus resulting in a nice young lady whose initials are K.C becoming so furious she spit out the word ' slore' . This caught on and eventually stuck. Thank goodness.
