A phrase used commonly in chats with profanity filters to bypass the sensors and tell people to kill themselves. This phrase is often more damaging to your sanity than actually being told to kill yourself.
What the other posts didn’t say was the memes origin.
Origin story:
About a couple years ago, I started saying “go commit die” to people I knew, as far as I know I was one of the first to use this phrase before it became a meta meme. I had never heard anyone say it before and neither had anyone I knew. Later, I started using it on discord, mainly in the server ‘SirSwags Scrub Hub’ and I unintentionally spread the meme on Reddit as well. At this point it was no longer ‘my thing’ it was then spread beyond my control and it’s originality was ruined. Nobody cared where it came from and there was no name attached to the creator.
I doubt I was the only one to ever think of this meme, but using it on a server with 14,000 people tends to spread things, if you asked them if I made it they would probably say I didn’t because of the lack of crediting ideas and the fact that the server is full of assholes. (that is one of the reasons I spend so much time there)
I also now know how it feels to make something that gets popular and get no credit for it, it’s painful to say the least. What’s worse is watching your joke, your quote, your original idea die from overexposure. You don’t know how it feels until you go through it yourself.
