tube snob

A guitarist who only likes tube amps, and hates amps that use other technology.

The amps tube snobs hate are solidstate and modellers.

Being a tube snob generally is wrong, as there are good SS and modelling amps such as the Line 6 Vetta or Flextone. Most of them are un-informed about good SS/Modelling amps, and base their opinon on terrible SS/Modelling amps.

Very annoying to argue with, as they always think they're right.

Jack went to Guitar Center, and tried the Line 6 Vetta. He liked it.

However, because he was a tube snob, he decided to get something that has tubes, even though he really liked the Vetta.
