Used to describe heterosexual couples who choose not to marry based upon their own personal beliefs that there is no need to muck up a good friendship with a marital contract, and choose to live as though married (ie: together and monogamous) but are not recognized as common law.

Bob is Laura's anti-spouse. They live together, run a household together, and own pets together.

yoga-spouse

A married woman or man who does not have to work to help his/her family financially survive. He/she may choose to work part-time or full-time but does so from a hobbyist point of view. He/she may enter and leave the workforce on a whim.

Even though a yoga-spouse may or may not be a parent, he/she is a care-free individual who has sufficient time to workout or socialize whenever he/she pleases. Financial burdens are far from his/her purview.

Amy quit her stressful job to spend more time at yoga class and socialize with her friends thus becoming a yoga-spouse.

SNARL Spouse Syndrome

This term is used to describe a spouse or significant other who claims to have boarded the "anti-fostering train", but is then often caught loving on and sneaking snuggles with the SNARL foster.

My husband has SNARL Spouse Syndrome. He acts like he doesn’t want to foster anymore animals, until I bring one home and I find him snuggling with it.
