checkerboard

Southwest Airlines equivalent of SSSS (see previously accepted definition highlighted) . Upon receiving the checkerboard you have to go through extensive secondary security screening because of pre-selected criteria.

Due to me flying one-way, I was given the checkerboard treatment by Southwest. Now I have to go through extensive security before the flight.

stat check

It means that in a fight even if you play it perfectly but have a lower number the higher number will win and not the higher skill, doesn't matter if you play well, dodge every ability, you will lose if you have the lower number.

Jax: *kills Vayne even if she played it perfectly*

Vayne: "lol i lost a stat check"

Jax: "ez noob"

Show Up, Shut Down, Clock In and Check Out.

This phenomenon describes how some people react to undesirable and uninspiring work situations. This phenomenon is mainly applicable to people working boring, mindless jobs, most of whom perform rote work -- e.g., data entry -- or are paid simply simply for their presence -- e.g., a booth attendant. Activities that constitute 'shutting down' and checking out' include: napping, reading, sending excessive/unnecessary text messages, and listening to one's iPod.

Elliott: I'm surprised Tom hasn't gotten more sleep today -- doesn't he have to work the graveyard shift tonight?
Mark: Yeah, but remember, he's a booth attendant in the middle of the night...he's just going to Show up, Shut down, Clock in and Check out.

(1) To tell a correctional officer you're in fear of being physically assaulted by other prisoners and want to be placed in protective custody.
(2) To threaten another prisoner, so that he has to tell a correctional officer he's in fear of being assaulted by other prisoners and wants to be placed in protective custody.
