stereotype

A stereotype is used to catergorize a group of people. People don't understand that type of person, so they put them into classifications, thinking that everyone who is that needs to be like that, or anyone who acts like their classifications is one.

Stereotype for Goths are black clothes, black makeup, depressed, hated by society.
Stereotype for Punks are mohawks, spikes, chains, menace to society, always getting in trouble.

An overly simplified, negative description of a people group with a high statistical probability of being true that is inexpedient to progressive platforms. The new regressive left would like you to blind yourself from the fact that these may ring true, which is preventing people from coming together to have an honest dialogue about causality and realistic solutions. Note that the term "stereotype" will not be applied to overly simplified and probable generalizations that are either supportive of progressive policy conclusions, or demonize/dismiss the opposition. Examples of these include: "All Republicans are older, wealthy white men." "Trump supporters are uneducated and uninformed." "Women don't make as much as men because of institutionalized sexism."

That's a vicious stereotype about (insert favored minority group), and the fact that people believe it is most of the reason why (insert negative outcome caused by stereotype).

stereotypes

a perception of a person or thing that applies those attributes most commonly associated with the group that such person or thing belongs to, regardless of whether that perception is true. This word has gained a negative connotation and is more commonly associated with discrimination, when in reality it is a natural mechanism used by people to better understand the world. This is why when someone says "hockey player" you think of a white guy, or "rapper" and you think of a black guy, or "city" and you think of things like skyscrapers.

Stereotypes are often good and helpful things, but discrimination on the basis of prejudice/stereotypes often has negative effects.

Stereotypical

An adjective used to describe a person or trait which adheres to a stereotype.

A stereotypical person is one who is the image of a stereotype. It is NOT (I repeat, NOT!!!!) a person who believes that stereotypes are true. Only a stereotypical foreigner would think this, because the stereotype of foreigners is that they are bad at English. The fact that I feel this way does not make me stereotypical, because there is no stereotype that urban dictionary users are xenophobic.

The word stereotypical should be used in a sentence the same way you would use the word typical.

Correct Use: "That Asian kid is good at math? How stereotypical."

Incorrect Use: "That jerk assumed that i'm good at math just cause I'm Asian! He's so stereotypical."

An automatic overgeneralization of certain labels, regardless of accuracy; Over-abused discrimination.

Cheerleaders: Vain, slutty bitches who are way too self-absorbed

Emos: Attention-seeking, depressed, angsty teens (Fakes, wannabes, attention-seekers=the majority of emo population these days); Wannabe scene queens; Emo Elmo (in my opinion, bullshit, and an inaccurate judgement ofe "emo"); Cutting (is actually a form of non-sexual masochism)

Celebrities: Over-paid actors and musicians just waiting to be judged and showered with overrated popularity; "Scandalous"

Examples of stereotypes (regardless of accuracy):

"All cheerleaders are skinny, skanky, and anorexic."

"Why don't all you stupid emos just bleed to death, you depressed attention-seeking whores?" (Someone actually said this to me)

"OMFG, like, MILEY CYRUS!!! ROBERT PATTISON!!"

Stereogypsical

A term describing a person or group of people who are stereotypically gypsy, who embody all of the generalizations about gypsies but none of the subtleties or facts known outside of common knowledge.

Jane: Dude! Don't you just love Gogol Bordello?! THEY ROCK SO HARD!

Tom: Not really... They're a little too stereogypsical for my tastes.

Jane: Wutevs.
