i consider myself an emo kid.
it's good to be emotional and listen
to emo music to let it all out instead
of keeping it all bottled up until your heart bleeds out your ass.

ok, first of all, lets get this straight,
emo is not short for "emotional"
emo is short for "emotive-hardcore," a genre of music that was sparked in the 80's by Rites of Spring. It is not a stereotype for boys who cut their hair at 45 degree angles, wear girl jeans, do not wash their hair for 3 days, and wear makeup. It does not mean pathetic high pitched male vocals singing metaphors such as "my words are knives cutting into your soul", and its not bands like Bright Eyes.pee-est-thats called INDIE.
just thought I'd clear up some of those bullshit definitions.

Usually 13-18 years of age, these courageous individuals constitute one of the few stable market segments in the current American economy. Fueled by a seemingly endless supply of their parents money (and the considerably less-endless amount they make working at the mall after school), these brave crusaders for capitalism will purchase damn near anything that's black, 80's pop culture themed, spiky, tight-fitting, or otherwise sold at Hot Topic. They're also some of the top consumers of mobile phone data plans in the nation.
Unfortunately this positive contribution to so many bottom lines makes it impractical to ship them all to a desert island until they grow out of it.

The emo kid's outfit cost $300, but somehow she still looked like shit.
Or
I wonder if emo kids will still buy $20 t-shirts when their mom stops paying their rent?

emo kids usually hate when their favorite bands are on MTV cuz they have "sold out" also most emo boys wear girl pants, tight little shirts(band shirts or old thrift store shirts) and have long hair dyed black or dark red or streaks of lighter colors on black or dark brown.
emo girls wear band shirts and vintage things and have either short hair dyed different colors n cut at different angelse of very long and straight dyed black or redish brown also both guys n grls tend to have gauges in their ears and have multiple piercings mainly lip, ear, and eyebrow

Emo ppl r ppl who dont fit into the mainstream.
contrary to popular belief, they dont all slit their wrists. and not all are always depressed. dont wear glasses unless they need them. they all have their own original style, and the base is any clothes that r black, stripy, checkered, random, or are band merchandise. black skinny jeans are popular, but not mandatory. other options are black skirts, 3/4 pants, short shorts with short dress. accessories are the messenger bag, has patches, pins, badges, and whatever they want to put on it, and jewlery is coloured bracelets, wrist bands, black nail polish, arm warmers, random socks or just black socks, or stocking socks, chucks, punk shoes, checkered anklets, kung-fu shoes, black sandals. hair is usualy black, with streaks or dark red in it, short at the back teased with a comb, or spiked, and tapered to long over the front, cropped fringe to the side, or long over one eye, or shaved on one side to long over the other side, or some girls have layered shoulder-length hair. dark eyeliner and mascara is totaly necessary. some have red on top of that..and white foundation, red lipstick. i go a bit diff and have pink lip-gloss, but u get the picture, u can get away with whatever if u have the format..
emo kids r creative. expressive through poetry, song-writing, art. going to shows of their fav bands, and 2 meet friends.
love music., listening to records, and on i-pods. i have CDs. i heard its not emo to have CDs, but whoever said that can kiss my emo ass, coz CDs are just another way 2 listen 2 music- which is the main part!

Emo short for the term emotional
Seriously how can someone dress emotional..
shure you can express your emotions through what you wear but teachnically you cant dress emotiomal.
i have these conversations with kids in my skewl everyday and they just stare at me blankly and think about it..
have you ever noticed thats its mainly boys who taugnt 'emos' you no why i think this is?
becoz most boys at my skewl are hoberphobic well they say they are anyway and they see emos boys and see that they straighned there hair where eye makeup and it reminds them of a gay guy? and they feel intimidated.
mayb im wrong..
but really why do we have to place people in to genres..
there are so many
eg.waxheads-sufers
how come they dont cop as much as 'emos'

A gay group of people who where their hair to the side because they suck. They usually don't know what emo really is and think that falloutboy and Taking back sunday and MCR are "Emo bands". Emo kids are losers.
