Woodstock 99
Woodstock 99 was a rock festival held on the Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, New York, USA, starting on Thursday 22 July 1999, and ending 3 days later that Sunday. The event was one of the 3 festivals (alongside Woodstock '94) that attempted to emulate the "peace, love, and music" of the hippie movement more often than not associated with the original Woodstock '69 festival held in Bethel, NY. The festival is universally branded as a dismal failure marred with sexual violence, vandalism, drug trafficking, rioting, and fires. Many famous acts at the festival include Limp Bizkit, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, DMX, Metallica, Kid Rock, Insane Clown Posse, Rage Against the Machine, and The Tragically Hip.
All in all, 44 arrests were made, 2 people (the media loves to say 3 people) died, 4 sexual assaults were identified, and thousands were injured.
