URL bait

Luring website traffic with an active link in a short, cryptic or obscure message. Commonly used in Twitter, with bit.ly shorteners. Exploits the temptation to click first and ask questions later.

I got this URL bait off the mailing list - "lol see if you can follow ;) htt*://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxJKdh6KZ0w"

Twitter is full of URL bait - "Food (and wine) for thought htt*://bit.ly/amNYF"

pokemon url

Stupid Tumblr culture craze that gained much attention in 2012. People think it makes you a better person to have a URL/username that is a canon Pokémon name; ie. Pikachu, Zubat, Mudkip, etc. The best way to find out if you have an actual Pokémon URL (Pokéurl for short) is to go to bulbapedia, type your username and if no results are found sorry you're a ratchet basic bitch.

Fennel:"I just got some pokemon URL"
Juniper:"Which ones?!"
Fennel:"Hydreig0n, vulpixes, and professorbel ^__^"
Juniper:"...who the fuck is Bel"

A term used to describe the regret a person feels when they realize their Myspace URL is lame and they can't change it. Most people also refuse to make a new account to get a new URL because they don't want to lose their friend count or photo comments.
