comes from the saying that a watermelon seller does not know if the watermelon is ripe or not but promotes them regardless. it gained notoriety when it was attributed to the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who is described to be a crook and fraud.

Now lets talk about that 'watermelon seller' Erdogan, he sold me a basket of Apples knowing they'd be rotten on the inside.

Stolleried

A most charming and generous chap frequents The Station Pub in Wivenhoe. His favourite pursuit on a Sunday, early evening, is to stroll into the bar and buy the entire pub (especially if it's full of females) Zambuccas. The clientele embraces this largesse with abandon: Zambuccas downed in one, pronto. Often unsuspecting tourists are informed that it is said gent's "birthday" in order to facilitate their willlingness to hurl themselves like Lemmings into their forthcoming total inebriation. As soon as the first round is consumed, said gent buys another round and the clientele chuck the next one down their necks. This continues for several hours until the entire pub is in utter carnage. At which point said gent (also known as The Zambucca Fairy) chuckles to himself , says "goodnight turnips" and leaves. If you are ever in The Station on a Sunday and you manage to make it home without an ambulance, you haven't been properly "Stolleried".

A Uri Geller Smeller is named after the man who claimed he could bend spoons and stop clocks just by looking at them, and is the result of a violent incident of "sitting on a mortar" after a bad curry, when the foul miasma emanates from the WC and works its way around the house bending spoons and stopping clocks as it goes.

Stellenbosch

There are several but only two worth mentioning:

1.- It is a beautiful town/city situated in the Cape Winelands and is +/- 40km from Cape Town, South Africa, itself.

2.- It is home to students from all over the world who attend Stellenbosch University. It is a crazy place where every student studies hard and plays harder

We will be going wine tasting on the wine farms in Stellenbosch.

"I got accepted to Stellenbosch University!" "awesome! what you studying?" "Viticulture hopefully. I'm going there to drink wine everyday!"
