North American English
f. Germanic "snāw" (snow), Latin "bestia" (beast)

A white-skinned person of European ancestry; a white person. May refer to the northern latitude origins of main European populations, the colour of their skin, or both. Constructed as analogous to racial slurs for other ethnicities which connote primal, animal, and naturalistic themes as low, dangerous, degrading, or uncivilized (see: coon; some connotations of savage). Intended as highly pejorative and offensive.

Not to be confused with the 1977 made-for-tv movie Snowbeast starring Bo Svenson, or the 2011 movie Snow Beast, which was set in Canada, eh.

Snowpacalypse

A term coined in the latter part of the first decade of the 21st century. It is used to describe a weather phenomonon where a region or regions is struck by massive and crippling snow storms back to back. Unfortunately (or fortunately deprnding how you look at it) the term is often mispronounced by hair helmeted stuttering stumble bummed weather forcasters and anchor persons. If the use of this word follows past trends, soon every fucked up weather pattern will be renamed with the suffix "pacalypse". Just as every dicked up scandal or back door deal was standardized by the suffix "gate" after the Watergate" scandal.

My fellow Americans, as your President, I am declaring that our nation's Capitol will be closed until we are out of the icy grip of Snowpacalypse 2010. Emergency services, to include Fire, Police and Corpse Men will however, continue.
