this started as a misspelling but now refers to the act of taking a bad screenshot, for example if the volume bar is visible or a notification pops up as you are taking it.

'I could not stop screenshitting yesterday. It kept getting interrupted by my mom texting me about my asshole recovery lotion.'

It is a synonym for "📸📸📸📸"
Example of screenshitting:
User 1: "Nut in the ella"
User 2: "If you insist"
User 1: "Your cats name is now ella"
User 1: *proceeds to screenshot it and put fnaf 2 ambience over a video of the screenshot*

The act of aggressively screenshotting someone’s post, artwork, or authored content—usually out of context—and reposting it to provoke rage, derail conversation, or farm clout. It’s digital sabotage disguised as engagement. Often used by trolls, baiters, or chaos agents who can’t match the original tension, so they fracture it instead.
