The latest (as of 2005) anime by famous director Satoshi Kon. His works include "Millenium Actress" and "Tokyo Godfathers." Paranoia Agent follows the stories of victims of a would-be serial killer, but none of them are dead. This enigmatic attacker is known as Li'l Slugger, because he uses a slightly bend bat to strike his victims. This anime is not just a police drama though, for all the victims seem...relieved afterwards. All of them suffer from dangerous psycological symptoms, and were being pushed into a corner by events in their lives. The attacks come as a release, almost healing in a sense. This anime is very good, and it differs from the fantasy-sci fi normalicy of average anime. I would really recommend seeing it, and all of Satoshi Kon's works.

For someone to be in the constant state of Paranoia. Paranoia is the thought processm, which is heavily influenced by anxiety and/or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs concerning a perceived threat towards ones own self. Greek translation of paranoia simply means madness (para = outside; nous = mind). Historically, this characterization was used to describe any extreme delusional state.

Someone who is crazy and thinks everyone is always out to get them, take them down, or cause them to fail at everything and anything they undertake.

Space Paranoids

A game from the 1982 movie TRON. Encom recently remastered the game and uploaded it to the interwebs for everyone to play. Currently, the only person to reach the top score of Space Paranoids is Kevin Flynn, with a score of 999,000. The player drives a tank and tries to shoot down turrets, other tanks, and flying ship things called Recognizers.

Guy 1: "Hey dude, have you played Space Paranoids yet? I almost got one of the top 5 high scores."

Guy 2: "No, I haven't, but it sounds really fun."

Facebook Paranoia - Noun. - unfounded or ill-founded fear of (1) unauthorized editing of one's Facebook (FB) account characterized by unflattering profile pics or socially deplorable "interests" by hackers or prankster friends; (2) misinterpretation of FB communication due to lack of voice inflection, especially in private messaging; (3) seizure and hoarding of drunken/out-of-context photos by others for future blackmail; (4) being caught in a lie when your off-FB conversations are countered by another's cognizance of your FB information; (5) unintentionally revealing oneself as a stalker by acknowleging awareness of another's interests or recent activities only noted on FB, especially when involving a crush/casual hook-up;

Facebook paranoia situation 4 - John to friend while at gym: "Sorry I couldn't watch the game with you guys last night, I was putting nitro in the Mustang." Friend: "Dude, don't lie, I totally saw your girl's wall post to her friend that you were watching The Notebook last night with her and that you cried during the love-making scene."

Facebook paranoia situation 5 - Girl: "My friend and I were talking about going to a movie later this week, if you don't have to work maybe you can join us?" Boy: "Oh yeah, I've been wanting to see Zoolander too and I don't have to work Thursday!!" Girl: "Um....how'd you know.....?"
