John Kerry managed the run the worst campaign with no attacks until the end, had no charisma, had a bitchy wife and constantly flip-flopped but came within THREE points of beating an incumbent wartime president with charisma and appeal to much of the masses. Moral Mandate

Something made up by religious extremists trying to justify overturning Roe v Wade and taking away the rights of gay Americans to go about their daily lives just because Bush won the election by the smallest of margins. Even if Bush lost the popular vote and won, they'd say he still has a moral mandate. In fact, less than fifteen percent of all Americans were values voters, and mostly come from the South, which votes values most of the time anyway.

Bush has no mandate. About half the country voted him down. To get a mandate, you need to win in a landslide.

Mask mandate

Somebody who wants you to get in line with their agenda in order to lift a mask mandate still wants to keep you from standing as a whole person again. When you compromise, you are no longer a whole person.

If you've went through the mask mandate almost a year and you're still here, and you're not sick, why would you compromise or get in line now, even if half of your state has done it and more will follow? Don't give up on something because someone tells you it's a dark tunnel, even if they also tell you tell you there's a light at the end of it. When someone else takes control of your fate, they might try to get you run over by a train in a tunnel, all because you were willing to compromise with them.

Hard Mandate

A completely made up term with no real power. Used by a shady private EMS employer to scare employees into compliance when extra personnel are needed on the road.

Man, scheduling called me in the middle of the day to try to hard mandate me. They know I work nights.
