Shops and hangs out at Hot Topic and looks more Emo than Goth, wearing a lot of red and vapes/smokes weed.

Gets mad at “posers” when they themselves are a poser that has only heard of the Gothic Bands Joy Division and The Cure; doesn’t know Gothic Terminology and misuses it a lot while calling Metal music Goth.

Posts about their horrible “disorders” that they developed for attention. Actually listens to a lot of Panic! At The Disco. Has only one Gothic Go-To Outfit.

Has a stuck up Gother-Than-Thou attitude, and relies on others to do their bidding since they can’t handle actual conflict.

When makeup is worn, they either overdo it or do it horribly, the same for their teased hair.

“I saw this Goth at the Mall a couple weeks in a row wearing the same Joy Division shirt and black ripped jeans. They might be a Mall Goth.”

Mall goth

A hateful word full of prejudice and stereotypes, used against younger people, who are yet not really achieve the aesthetic of goth and know its own kind of music. These batlings are mostly newcomers to the alternative subcultures, cannot really divide their fashion styles, and usually buy stuff from cheaper mall stores. Instead of educating and giving help, this word is most likely responsible for turning off these young people from finding their own true path in the alternative scene.

Oh man, look at all those annoying mall goths in front of the hot topic.

Mall Goths - Wannabes - The kids with bad excessive make-up equipped with Manson or Cradle of Filth shirts. They hate their parents for buying them everything and they shop at hot topic. Usually seen lerking around the local Shopping malls.

Lame ass Kids who chill out on the stairs in front of school just to get in everyone's way. Very obnoxious and loud. All of them listen to shitty ass music like ICP\ and other shit, while a few of them are somewhat cool and listen to Dream Theater. They're [poor choice of music should be replaced by good music such as Rush, Dragonforce, and Megadeth.

A person (usually a teenager,) who tries to follow with the new pseudo-goth trends (usually the ones they pick up at the mall) and try to show it off like it's some sort of uber-fucking evil religion.

Hot Topic is the mallgoth's place of worship. I don't recommend going there on weekends when schools out.

Yuppy teens (or real stupid adults) that try too hard to look unique at the mall. But fail miserably since their mallgoth culture is manufactured as the alternative culture for those who act cynnical towards rap and pop, spawning a legion of pale faced losers and making Hot Topic rich.

Ironically Marilyn Manson, their God, is a marketed popstar as well.

Mallgoths lack knowledge about tr00 black metal and real goths, who were nomads during ancient times. They think you just have to listen to Marilyn Manson and shop at Hot Topic to be "unique" and "depressed".

At the mall (which they practically live in), they complain about everything, even about how commercial the mall is.

The mallgoth was depressed that his mommy didn't buy him a new over priced trench coat at Hot Topic so he locked himself up in his black room and listened to Marilyn Manson all day.

Trendy kids who believe that they are "goths" when they have no understanding of the scene. Typically have baggy jeans, black dyed hair and trendy band t-shirts. Often associate their knowledge of HIM (who are a good band nonetheless) with connection to underground, when they have no real knowledge of real gothic music. While these people are often worthless as human beings, they can often be hot, and easily persuaded to do whatever you want them to for attention, particularly if they think you are "evil". They are also fun to scare the shit out of if you have an understand of real goth/black metal culture.

I have personally scared a mallgoth into a preppy by showing them a Countess album.
