legolas

Elf from J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Played by Orlando Bloom in the films. Attracts legions of screaming fangirls that could quite easily attach themselves to any given part of his body and never let go.

The character himself is mediocre at best, exhibiting extraordinary prowess with the bow and arrow but little to no intellect when it comes to dialogue.

In the novels he bursts into song frequently. In the films he provides "witty" comic relief along with dwarf-friend Gimli. Their tired banter makes the audience yawn, but keeps the fangirls happy.

Peter Jackson: Legolas hasn't had a line in awhile. What do we have going in this scene?

...

Aragorn: "He needs time, and safe passage across the Plains of Gorgoroth. We can give him that."

Gimli: "How?"

Aragorn: "Draw out Sauron's armies, empty His lands. Then we gather our full strength and march on the Black Gate. We can give Frodo his chance if we keep Sauron's Eye fixed upon us!"

long pause

Legolas: "A diversion!"

Legolas Greenleaf

Two words, the sound of which can make any female LotR fan (and some male ones) almost reach orgasm. Or, if the person is a wagner, they will reach orgasm. Several times.
Man: So let's have sex. Woman: I have a headache. Man: Legolas Greenleaf. Woman: OOOOOOoooooo! Hey hunny, I'll be right back. I need to, um, go to the bathroom.

Legolas Greenleaf

An elf on the Lord of the Rings trilogys, played by Orlando Bloom, a notably handsome man. Legolas is swift, and is quick at hand with his bow and arrow.

LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring grossed $313,364,114, at the U.S. box office, and LOTR: The Two Towers grossed $339,734,454 at the U.S. box office.

A third, and final installment in the Tolkien series, The Return of the King, is set, and highly anticipated for a release date in late December, 2003.
In the Fellowship of the Ring, Legolas Greenleaf was one of 9 to travel to Mount Doom, and destroy the one ring that had the power to destroy all Middle Earth. Unfortunately, as the power of the ring proved to prevail, the fellowship broke up, and left Frodo Baggins, and his gardener Samwise Gamgee, to travel alone to Mount Doom.

Legolas

An Elf character in Tolkien's Legendarium who was created late into writing because Tolkiem changed his mind on the Elvish companion of Frodo. He had meant for Glorfindel to accompany the Fellowship. Thus Legolas is one of the most underwritten, undefined and hallowed characters in the Fellowship. Not that Gimli or Aragorn are that better. Legolas has a here and there friendship with both but mostly, Tolkien left too much to imagination about him.

In the films, Jackson tried to improve the character as best as he could: Gimli and Legolas have a stronger friendship ("What about side by side with a friend?") and great interactions with Aragorn.

He is great with a bow and he also has his dual long blades.
Movie-Legolas is better than Book-Legolas.
