A genere of music which combines hip-hop vocals (usually altered in pitch, tone, speed) with electronic beats. May have existed in some form in the past, but has recently become popularized via social media and music blogs by (once-)independent artists such as Figgy, Flume and Disclosure.

Friend 1: Oh man, I've discovered so many new indie electronic artists on Facebook! I wonder what the name for this genre is, though...
