To talk down on someone. Typically an attack on someone's abilities or situation. Almost always done in front of the victim and in front of a group of 3 or more.

I like ol' Ray Jean man, but be damned every time we all get together that sumbitch starts ta hackin on me. If he does it 6 or 7 more times, I'm outta here...
