Derived from sports video games. Typically the athlete on the cover of the game always has fantastic performance in the game, usually exceeding their real-life abilities, especially in "clutch" situations.

Can be transposed to real life situations.

GWOT THOT

A GWOT THOT is someone who idolizes the gear/weaponry commonly used by NATO forces during the 30+ year long Global War On Terror.

Often placing unreasonable amount of affinity toward or quality on specific pieces of equipment due to the fact that was awarded Defense Contracts and has been in use for "muh Two Gulf Wars!"

Often will tout their M4gery or M16A4gery clone and simps for KAC, Eotech, ACOGs, and Beretta M9s.

GWOT THOT: Yeah that swoopy short barrel AR you got is cool, but I'll just stick to my M4 and ACOG. The military wouldn't have chosen it if it wasn't the best thing for our troops.

Person 2: Wow... That dude is a total GWOT THOT.
