The best/worst thing for a high-schooler to experience before they take their leap into the real world. A last chance for friends/crushes/acquaintances/etc. to get together for the last time, and, hopefully, get phone numbers/e-mail addresses/Myspaces to talk to each other after they all leave high school.

At graduation, I tried to kiss my than girlfriend, she moved away from the kiss, and told me that she was cheating on me someone else. She than proceeded to graduate while my dad took a picture of us standing together with our diploma covers. Needless to say, my graduation sucked ass. Also, don't throw your caps when you graduate. I did, and got back one without a graduating class pin.

Lesbian Until Graduation LUG 

someone who for whatever personal/logistical reasons decides to be a lesbian until graduation. the seriousness of this can range from officially identifying as a lesbian (possibly accompanied by an elaborate coming out process) to avoidance of the offical term and simply fucking around with girls. rather like cinderella after midnight, these are the girls who revert back to the male half of the species after leaving the college bubble. a very common occurance at women's colleges. also has a counter-part in the term bi until graduation (BUG). most frequently used on womens college's campuses, the term may also be used as an insult or warning and is oftentimes by other women who have more romantic or sexual experience with other women (AKA lesbians/bi chicks who have come to terms with their sexuality earlier on and are talking about the chicks who're just now starting to explore).

This is the day you leave high school with a diploma, and many gaping wounds and/or emotional pain/catharsis.

Wow, Tom! Congratulations on graduating from high school, isn't that a big relief?

Tom: Well, this wound from AP Chemistry will never go away, and I feel like crying like a little girl, knowing I don't have to put up with those fucking losers and that history teacher for the rest of my life *cries*

Graduation

The exact definition of Graduation is catch 22. Just a giant clusterfuck of emotions in which you don't know whether to be happy or sad. Nervous, or excited. Ugh. Graduation sucks.

Example: "I cried so much at my graduation, I was scared to be leaving behind everything I'd ever known for 12 years of my life. But at the same time, excited to be starting something new and adventurous."

Portuguese Graduation 

An article of affectation used primarily to denote the event in which a Portuguese youth with poor grades achieves a stable, labour-intensive, blue collar job with little to no income mobility or prospects for occupational advancement.

The term "Graduation" is bastardized here, as while the Atlantic Trout-fishing, lemon tart-eating Portuguese are generally a smart and industrious people, they have notoriously very little academic prowess or notable institutional credential.

Therefore, sporting a very low GPA and other under-average psychometric percentiles, a portuguese will be said to "Graduate" directly into the work force. This is the rough equivalent of a non-Portuguese achieving an academic certification as enumerated by a public institution, (i.e. high school or post-secondary), and being equipped to pursue lucrative, white-collar work.

Alt. A 'Portuguese diploma' or a Portuguese 'Bachelor of Honors.'

EXAMPLE 1:

Paula: "Oh vey! My Little Fabio is so grown up! He just dropped out of senior year at Meadowvale High to start brick-laying with local construction worker and drywalling 235!"

Luis: "That's my boy! I'm glad we invited everyone over for his Portuguese Graduation."

EXAMPLE 2:

Carlos: "Oh vey! I was looking at Lorena's student transcript the other day...
She has a GPA of 2.1 and wants to drop out of college to study cosmetics instead of Mechanical Engineering.

Neilla: "Yep, she's on track to becoming the loudest hair-stylist on the East Side after her Portuguese Graduation."
