Crime and Punishment

A book written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, a Russian author also known for his well-acclaimed novel, "The Brothers Karamazov".

Crime and Punishment is a novel often required by English teachers for students to read during their summer vacation. Some students may be discouraged at the length of the book, which is over 650 pages, but it's an absolutely fantastic novel filled with suspense and figurative language to make one certainly think over the actions of the characters.

It is, without a doubt, the best book I have ever read.
Crime and Punishment took me a while to read, but luckily it was a good book. I was never bored while reading it.

cruel and unusual punishment

Back in the day, when parents were allowed to spank their children as means of last resort, occasionally a mother would make a wayward child go outside and select a willowy branch which would be used to "switch" the naked legs.Having to select the instrument of your punishment was considered cruel and unusual punishment.Sometime this was pre-punishment as indicated by "And just you wait until your dad gets home".
I would alway get a Forsythia branch as the device of my cruel and unusual punishment.

Capital Punishment

The official and legal definition for the death penalty. It is usually the reward for most high-class felonies, such as first-degree murder, rape, etc. In the United States, it is usually carried out by means of lethal injection, but other places in the world still use methods such as firing squad, hanging, and electric chair. Some countries and states have been known to have banned the practice because of its gruesome nature.
In 2005, Stanley Tookie Williams, one of the founders of the Crips gang was awarded Capital Punishment for three counts of first degree murder and larceny. He's probably in hell now.
