When someone says 'can't deal' it means that they can't cope anymore under their circumstances.

A cotton picking term meaning: You pick cotton from when you "can" see...until when you "can't" see.

When I lived in Mississippi I picked cotton for a while. It is hard work! You pick from can-to-can't...from sun up to sun down.
