The act or practice of de-friending people on Facebook, mainly due to excessive status updates. Although this may apply to the de-friending of individuals, it more commonly refers to going through one's "Friends" list and removing a relatively large number of people, such as people you met at a party once and haven't seen since, friends of exes, and high school classmates that you actually kind of hated.
I just did a Facebook audit and got rid of like fifty friends. I didn't even know who half of those assholes were.

Auditory processing disorder is a hearing problem. Kids and adults with this condition can't process what they hear in the same way other people do because their ears and brain don't fully coordinate. An individual with this disorder may experience hearing certain things muffled while other things perfectly fine.
For example, a person with APD is in a restaurant, in the restaurant there's music playing, waiters walking and other people a few tables away talking. Beside the person with APD is their friend talking to them however, the individual with APD can hear that their friend is talking but it's muffled, the individual can hear the people talking, the music and the walking, almost as if those sounds were right next to them. This behavior is mostly practiced by people who have always blindly trusted the power structure and never wavered from this belief as they feel that people in said positions are there due to brains, qualifications, the ability to treat others fairly or work ethic despite the mountains of evidence to the contrary, example #1 being George W Bush.
A "C" student on a good day who never touched something he couldnt screw up, he nonetheless was appointed leader of the free world by judges appointed by HIS daddy, 41 and actually a decent enough guy. He did in fact, get properly elected the second time by manipulating the fears of the stupid, the homophobic, the incestuous and the highly religious. It is amusing that these groups have such a large amount of overlap.
Being Alito means keeping everyone in their place from the rich on down to assist those at the top from having to participate in a truly meritocratic democracy and instead live to perpetuate the same type of backward 1600's English aristocracy that our ancestors deserted.
The result of this desertion was the founding of America, the greatest country the world has ever seen in large part as a rebuff to those practices and behaviors. This obvious fact seems lost on the Alito's of the world.
Allowing the moneyed classes to pass their wealth on to their offspring regardless of whether they have the brains work ethic, etc to maintain thes high societal positions is by definition antimeritocratic and at odds with the founding principles as stated in many historical American documents, beginning with the Federalist papers.
Most of these snot-nosed incompetent little creeps seem to have inherited the shit for brains of a Paris Hilton, the appaling lack of business saavy of George Bush and the same revoltingly odd looks and physical appearance of Prince Charles as a result of rampant inbreeding. All are strong arguments for infaticide except for Paris, who it is rumored, sucks a mean dick. Truly a sad and disgusting lot if you ask me.
Bonus points for being Alito is given if you are a female, a minority, a homosexual or a foreigner as you can then be used as a token to help keep others of your particular class down or be a guest commentator on Fox "News" as they try to feign actual committments to openness, fairness and diversity. See: Michelle Malkin, "Log Cabin" Republicans or Ahnold.
Minus points for being an Alito are deducted if you just went to an Ivy League school, came from wealth, are a card-carrying of the John Birch Society, the Free-Masons, any segregated Country Club or certain fraternaties at select schools as it is simply expected that you should help your kind maintain said status quo. See: Strom Thurmond, Trent Lott, Antonin Scalia, Bill Frist or most Bush or Kennedy family members.

It centers around Gally/Alita, an amnesiac cyborg girl who's found in the rubble of the Scapyard by Doctor Ido. She learns that the ancient Panzer Kunst, the most powerful humanoid cyborg fighting technique, is instilled in her. She then begins to fight so that she can learn who she is and used to be.
The series is amazing and taps into many different themes and philosophical questions. Gally/Alita is constantly trying to find herself; figure out why she fights; what makes a human; what someone's value really depends on; how can we conquer our own karma??? These questions and more are posed in Battle Angel Alita (or Gunnm, it's other name that translates to Gun Dreams) and we see different character's answers and solutions.
It's an AMAZING story written by a great author. It's great for a deep read or something fun and enjoyable. The characters are memorable and make you laugh or cry. It's super violent but not so poorly drawn that you can't figure o'ut what's goin on, too. There's a LOT of blood and brains getting smashed and yum yum yum hahaha but it's still amazing.
There's a movie coming out and a bunch of people will try to jump on the bandwaggon and say they lurved it 4ever, so we'll have to fight through the noobs, but true Battle Angel/Gunnm fans know that when they read that book it seriously changed their lives!!!

Battle Angel Alita beats sooo many other mangas on sooo many levels... it's violent, bloody, funny, (at times) romantic, REALLY WELL DRAWN (you can always tell what's going on) and can make even the most tough people break out in tears.
