It is when you’re friend is in a long distance relationship or a relationship which has ran out of gas and they refuse to give up; as if their trying to get wood from a dead tree.
My friend is trying to wood block himself at every encounter now. It’s utterly horrendous, they need to end it.

The term is derived from the action of hobbling. The name is inspired from the wood which is allocated between the ankles of the person that is going to be sledgehammered on the ankles. The mission of wood-block is to facilitate the breaking of ankles.
